Exemptions for Dependents?

Can someone please explain to me Exemptions for Dependents? My husband and I have guardianship/full custody of his brother and sister who are both minors; we have had them since January 2006, so basically for 2 years. We were told that we were entitled to claim them on out taxes last year but just today we received a letter from the IRS asking us to prove that they qualify as our dependants. They told me to look up Publication 105 on irs.gov for Exemptions for Dependents but I am not understanding or having luck finding exactly what qualifies a child as a dependant… when we filed our taxes we also sent a copy of our notarized and Judge signed guardianship/custody papers but they are still asking us this because the children’s father also tried claiming them on his return although we were told that we were supposed to… anyways, can anyone clarify this to me or give me another site to look for that may explain this better to me?

If my rat has cancer and my parents refuse to take it to the vet what can i do to get them to take her?

Is it worth buying this Jeep Wranger?

I'm thinking about buying a '95 Wrangler (4 cyl. 5 spd.) from this guy I know. The body is in great shape and it looks good, but there's just one problem. There is a little popping sound through all the gears, mostly just when going slow, and 5th gear makes a terrible crunching noise. It will pull in 5th but something's definitley not right. The guy selling it says when they dropped the trans. they didn't get everything lined up right and the syncronizers just need to be aligned. Does this sound like a big deal?

Should I purchase a TI-84 Plus or a Casio fx-9750G Plus?

Both calculators are suggested for pretty much the same courses (Casio has extra listed: AP Statistics & AP Calculus). Everyone I have talked to, including instructors, tell me that if I have never used the TI, I will pretty much need "a course" in how to use it. What to do with this infested yard?

So my boyfriend purchased a house in October and I was all excited because even though the yard is small I would be able to plant a garden and some trees. Now I am not fond of worms but I can deal with them, but I really hate snakes. We found one in the basement about a week or two ago. I pretty much had a panic attack, but my bf convinced me that it was just a fluke since we live in a city and near the beach. So I relatively go over it. So I noticed while trying to clean up the yard that there are a lot of snails and lots of dead ones too. Odd, but okay. So now I'm digging up some areas that were left neglected planning on putting some mulch and shrubs, I'm digging and raking then all of a sudden I see two snakes in the dirt!!! I'm freaked out. How much more crap could possibly be in this yard!!! I've never had this problem before and I've lived in two other places!!! I just purchased wood for a raised bed planter, and I am petrified at what I am going to find in that yard! And 75% of it is concrete, go figure.

I went to counceling yesterday and they said to count when I get angry because it helps. Today somebody made me really mad so I was counting on the phone to 100. Since the rabbit died you should take him back to the veterinarian and ask him what that meant. Also have a necropy done to see what happened. This will help you and will help the veterinarian to become more educated about whatever the rabbit had. Unfortunately rabbits are not very hardy. They sub quickly to bacterial infections or hairball impactions. The best rabbit I had was only three and died of a hair ball :(

Need encouragement from women who have gotten pregnant naturally after the age of 35?

I am 38 and have one child. It took me 15 months to get pregnant with him, but we did it naturally, as the doctor didn't find any reason for the sub-fertility. Now, 3 years later, I am trying again. I got my day 3 blood work back and was encourage by the FSH and estrogen levels--all in the normal ranges. They did another blood test (AMH) which is a new test--I'm in France--which showed below normal levels. Dr. said that's to be expected by my age. He did a follicle count last time and counted 7. It's okay, he says, but I read on the internet that 15 is normal. So, anyway, I'm wondering if there is anyone out there with these same less than glorious results that got pregnant naturally? What will be the next step by the doctor? Are there drugs to help if I am ovulating already (isn't Clomid if you are not ovulating at all)? I don't think I would go as far as to try IVF, but think from my reading I wouldn't be a great candidate anyway b/c of low follicle count. Need encouragement.

Concrete cubes failed after 28 days?

I do have 9 cubes of concrete which averaged 32 N/mm2 when crushed after 28 days. The design Compressive strength is supposed to reach 35 N/mm2. The cubes were mistakenly not cured for the first five days so I am sure that the reason of failure is the lack of proper curing. However, is there any clause in the ASTM or BSI that helps me convince the Engineer that the concrete is fine without going through things like core test...etc? He knows but needs doents!!

My name is John and I am 16 years old. I am looking for a car to buy and work on as a hobby. I found an 1995 Eagle Talon with 125,000 miles on it. It is a 4 cylinder engine and its clutch is in near perfect condition. There is a little rust on it but I was planning on getting body work and a paint job for it. It is selling for 3,000 but I can probably get it for 2,000. I know it has alot of miles but I want a cheap car that has alot of kits available for it and has a user-friendly engine. I have 2 charges against me in municipal court, 1 domestic violence and 1 criminal tresp, which ultimately lead to my ex garnering a restraining order against me. My question is this, in the state of new jersey when a final restraining order has been issued when should I have it repealed. I mean both charges were found in municipal court. I am not saying I was not at fault I am saying that I want to fix and change everything that has happened. turn a new leaf so to speak. my actions and all of these cases against me have hampered my chances of gaining a better job for myself. I have a son and right now I am stuck in a dead end job because I fear that if i apply anywhere else they will do a background check and find out all of these things against me I wouldn't be able to work anywhere even if I wanted too. All I am saying is I am under the understanding that to get a judge to remotely even budge on a restraining order you have to at least have a clean record. I was figuring I would wait to have my previous charges expunged in the state of new jersey (apparently you have to wait 2 years after the last conviction) and then push to have my restraining order appealed. My other question is as far as finding employment do I have to tell future employers of my past. Remember all charges were found in municipal courts and not felonies or criminal charges.

I have a 2004 Infiniti g35. I was testing out the acceleration. I got the cars rpm just below red line. Then the car just stopped accelerating. I hit the gas again and it wouldn't respond. I pulled over and turned my car off then turned it right back on and it worked fine. However now the "service engine soon" light is on. Does anyone know why the car just stopped like that and why the engine light is still on?

check the idle air control valve and make sure it is operating properly. when cold starting the vehicle the rpm's should be higher than normal when cold after running the engine and warming it up the idle air control valve will close and allow a smaller amount of air into the intake to idle the vehicle. you may have to replace the idle air control valve if it is not operating properly. it is located on the top of the intake manifold and has two 8 mm bolts that hold it in place.

I am trying not to stress myself out about this but it's starting to worry me. To start off with I am a 25 yr. old woman in good health or at least I think I am. I am 5 ft. tall, 117 lbs., with good blood pressure (104/68), and I try to exercise and take care of myself. I had my gall bladder removed in the middle of Oct. so I've had it out a little over 3 months. For the past couple of months I have been waking up early in the mornings about 3:00 am with my heart racing and experiencing indigestion or heartburn, and sweating. I feel terrible when I wake up and feel as if I can't catch my breath. Last night it happened and I got up and took a Zantac and w/in 30 minutes I was fine. For the past week I have been experiencing bouts of using the bathroom about 3 times a day and then go a few days and not do anything. One of those days I did experience diarrhea. My stomache has been feeling crampy, bloated, gy, nauseaus, and I have not been running any fever. I've noticed soft drinks make me more gy than usual. I went to the Dr. about it and they took bloodwork and put me on antibiotics. The bloodwork was fine. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? My mom said something about colitis. The waking up in the morning really scares me b/c I'm scared of having a heart attack I feel like my heart is about to jump out of my chest. I can also say that my nerves have been getting to me which probably doesn't help. The doc doesn't think my problems are from my surgery.

IUD and a delayed period?

I had my IUD taken out on 3/19. I had a day or two of spotting on 3/21-3/22 then nothing. Since then I have had no period. I have had some twinges in my abdomen like when I am ovulating. I have also had a few episodes of severe pain that is more of a shooting pain through my feminine area. I have had frequeint urination, mood swings to the point of crying for no reason, headaches, and backaches. No real nausea though I seem to be more suceptable to heart burn lately and very tired. I took a 3 hour nap after sleeping 9 hours!! I have taken three pregnancy tests and they have all been negative. It is also important to note that my last period was on 3/3 and with the IUD in place I always had some sort of a period even if ver light. I called the doc and they said to just wait and my symptoms are probably just pms... that was over a week ago. Anybody have an experience like this? Any ideas? I had the IUD just shy of two years and it was the mirena with progesterin.
