I am due to go to court soon as i have been issued with a possession order?

From my council due to being 700 quid in arrears. I was keeping up regular payments when i was working for an agency. But people who have worked for an agency know that any day you could get laid off. It could be for a few weeks up to a few months until work picks up again and you get taken back on. BUT, when you do get laid off at first, all ya money plans go to pot dont they? Robbing peter to pay george or whatever that saying is. So my arrears built up as did my drinking and drug taking due to losing confidence in myself thinking im not going to work again etc etc. Question is "what sort of defence have i got when the judge asks me THE question!! "Why are you so much in arrears now"? Know wot i mean? And all those smart arses who will no doubt get on here and say "all you druggies deserve to lose ya house etc etc i fought in 23 world wars for s like you etc etc can piss off now. Cheers.
