Is it customary for the employer you are leaving to request a resume from you?

Wow, she sounds like a piece of work! I would not provide her with my resume...I can't imagine how she would use that. As for being on the job a year, it sounds like you were more than accommodating in staying there when your paychecks were bouncing. (I've been there...and he canceled our insurance without telling us, too.) I would have no qualms about showing your work, provided it is clearly on her letterhead or identifying her company in some way. When you send out a press release or a newsletter, it is distributed out into the public. Unless it says something to the effect of "no public disclosure" or "do not release", she would have no legal foundation to ban your use of them. Good luck...
