Global Warming Hype = Global Carbon Tax = Wealth Re-Distribution?

Anyone making the connection: carbon taxes appear that they are designed NOT to reduce pollution but to redistribute wealth around the world. To offset trade imbalance/deficit countries with declining resources are turning to carbon tax ponzi scheme to reduce their cost of importing foreign goods/commodities (steel, oil, coal etc.) - what do you guys think?
