Stomach pains?

I have severe to moderate pain in the stomach mostly right across the middle right under my rib cages. Honestly it feels like someone is running over my stomach with a truck and it hurts clear to my back. Any idea at all what this may be?????? the are going to check for gall stones but, im not sure if that is what it is
