Is it worth buying this Jeep Wranger?

I'm thinking about buying a '95 Wrangler (4 cyl. 5 spd.) from this guy I know. The body is in great shape and it looks good, but there's just one problem. There is a little popping sound through all the gears, mostly just when going slow, and 5th gear makes a terrible crunching noise. It will pull in 5th but something's definitley not right. The guy selling it says when they dropped the trans. they didn't get everything lined up right and the syncronizers just need to be aligned. Does this sound like a big deal?
